Optical Brighteners

Optical brighteners are organic uncoloured compounds or lightly coloured that, applied to a substrate, absorb the ultraviolet light and re-emit the majority of the absorbed energy in the form of a blue fluorescent light between 400 and 500 nm, improving the brightness and hiding the yellowing.

They have an elevate thermic resistance, chemical stability and good compatibility. In white pigment systems they intensify the purity, in black and blue pigment system they add to the depth in tone. They are suggested for the use in plastic, inks, paints and coating, adhesives, synthetic leather and also used like UV tracer.

Possible use in the anti-counterfeiting sector, such as tracers in paint and adhesive applications and for quality control.
